Found Pictures is a New York based production boutique with a
focus on music films and independent documentary. Embracing a
naturalistic, observational approach, FP creates personal works
ranging from live performance to intimate character studies. The
company recently finished the feature-length portrait, ALL THE
WAY FROM MICHIGAN NOT MARS, on indie songstress Rosie Thomas;
with Sufjan Stevens, Denison Witmer and Jeff Shoop. MARS is being
released on the Factory 25 label in October 2009.
FP is currently in post-production on two independent features,
A RUBBERBAND IS AN UNLIKELY INSTRUMENT and LIVE FROM A CAVE. RUBBERBAND
was recently selected as part of NY's IFP MARKET.
matt boyd
New York filmmaker Matt Boyd was born in Virginia and grew up
in both Germany and Tennessee. He has worked extensively as a
director, cinematographer and editor in the independent documentary
and music scene. His films and videos have been seen in festivals,
art spaces, the web and television across the globe. His directorial
commissions have included films / videos for artists such as The
Virgins, The Walkmen, Lambchop, Fleet Foxes, Vampire Weekend,
Dolly Parton, Grizzly Bear and Rosie Thomas. A collaboration
with filmmaker Jem Cohen on the film BUILDING A BROKEN MOUSETRAP
recently had its premiere at the Toronto Film Fest.
As a cinematographer, editor and filmmaker, Boyds work encompasses
a broad spectrum extending from indie rock, social and character-driven
documentary to the commercial worlds. He has contributed to a
wide range of projects with filmmakers including Jem Cohen, Amir
Bar-Lev, Braden King, Pete Sillen, Matt Kohn and Tim Irwin. Boyds
commercial client list includes Columbia / Sony Music, Nettwerk,
Rykodisc, MTV, Sharp Entertainment, Hachette Filipacchi, Atlantic
Records, The Weinstein Company, Court TV / Jester Pictures, ESPN,
BMG, MCA, One Little Indian, Columbia Records (Japan), Ultrastar
and Supreme NYC.
